Hello, my name is
Christina McKenzie.
I am a midwife and trauma-informed counselor, studied psychology at LMU Munich, and am the mother of two young children.
Distressing experiences surrounding pregnancy, birth, or the postpartum period are unfortunately
not uncommon. Studies show that approximately one in three to five women experience childbirth as distressing or traumatic. Such experiences can leave deep traces—emotionally, physically, and in one’s sense of trust, connection, and inner strength.
I support women in understanding, processing, and gently integrating distressing birth-related experiences. In my work, I combine my many years of experience as a midwife with my psychological expertise and specialized training in trauma counseling.
Together, we create a protected space where stories can be told, feelings expressed, and experiences understood—trauma-sensitive, non-judgmental, and on equal footing. We take a compassionate look at what has happened, explore what feels important, and find ways to cope with and integrate the experience. The goal is to regain orientation, relief, and stability—and to reconnect with trust in your own body, competence, and inner strength.
My services include:
- One-on-one sessions in Munich (also as walk & talk) or online
- Individual support for processing distressing birth experiences
- Emotional and mental stabilization, resource-oriented work, and psychoeducation
- Preparation for a subsequent pregnancy or renewed desire to conceive
- Creation of a well-founded, practical birth plan
- Support with rebonding
- Counseling together with a partner, if desired
You are at the center—with your story and your needs.
I look forward to accompanying you on this path.
Yours sincerely,
Christina McKenzie
